The Instituto de Investigaciones de la Amazonía Peruana - IIAP is a scientific and technological research institution for development, specialized in the sustainable use of biological diversity in the Amazon region that carries out its activities in a decentralized manner, promoting the participation of public, private and civil society institutions. Some of the functions of the IIAP are: - Incorporate the ecosystem, territorial, biological, social, geographic and prospective approaches, in search of Amazonian competitiveness, sustainability and institutionalism; - Generate technical-scientific information in dialogue with local knowledge; - Provide advice and assistance oriented to decision-making in areas such as adaptation to climate change and the sustainable use of goods and services; - Support the orderly and competitive occupation of the territory by civil society
