FZS is an international conservation organization based in Frankfurt, Germany. Founded by Professor Bernhard Grzimek, the main focus of its activities is the conservation of Peru's species-rich ecosystems. To achieve this, they focus on protected areas and their buffer zones, working closely with the Peruvian national authority for protected areas (Sernanp) and with local and indigenous communities, indigenous federations, local and regional governments as well as an alliance of partner organizations, to ensure the long-term protection of megadiverse and culturally rich project areas.
